The World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) with the motto “Golfing for Good” and raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), took place on Monday, August 11, 2014. Team Guidance Aviation of Prescott, Arizona made its debut and placed a very respectable 2nd! To date, the Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott, Arizona has raised $3,975. To give you a scope of what the WLGO has accomplished, in 2013, the event had 10,499 Participants and RAISED $735,440.00 for the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). WAY TO GO WLGO!
The World’s Largest Golf Outing was created in 2011 when Peter Hill, CEO of Billy Casper Golf, said, “You know what would be really cool? Having all of our golf courses hold a golf outing on the same day.” He then said, “You know what would be even cooler? Having this event make a difference.” And so, WLGO was born by combing two of the company’s passions – playing golf and giving back. That’s when Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) was chosen as the event’s charitable partner, for their tireless effort and work to support our injured service men and women who come back from war.
Since 2011 WLGO and participants have raised over $1,100,000.00 (That’s 1.1 million) for WWP and still counting! Again, way to go Peter Hill and WLGO!
